Starting My Research Journey
Starting My Research Blog
Hello! I’m Jongyun Hur, studying computer architecture and hardware-software co-design.
Maybe writing this blog is where my serious research actually starts.
Why I Started This Blog
Building a habit of journaling takes time, so I’m starting early and committing to being consistent.
If my writing can inspire other researchers or spark discussions, that brings me genuine happiness and fulfillment. Also, recording my footsteps feels like meaningful work to me.
My Research Focus
Broadly speaking, my research interests lie in computer architecture and hardware-software co-design. Specifically, I’m exploring:
- Next-generation computer architectures: How computing systems might evolve beyond traditional designs
- Hardware-software interface design: Exploring how hardware and software can be co-designed to optimize system performance and efficiency
To be honest, I haven’t settled on a specific research area yet. I haven’t done deep research in any one direction, but I’m actively exploring different subfields within this broader space.
Recently, I’ve been learning about next-generation architectures and GPUs, trying to figure out which area truly captures my interest.
What You Can Expect
In this blog, I plan to share:
- Research updates: Papers I’m reading, projects I’m working on, and what I’m learning from them
- Technical insights: Deep dives when I’m trying to understand something complicated
- Academic life: How I live as a student researcher
Looking Forward
My motto has always been: do breakthrough research that surprises both academia and industry.
As an engineer, I want to focus deeply on one field, develop innovative ideas, and build my own research architecture.
This blog is my first step. I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes.
Thanks for reading.
